I grew up impossibly demanding, and very competitive. Being ambitious is the story of my generation. But my goals are changing, my very definition of ambition is shifting. The word ‘ambition’ shares its root with the word ‘ambient, or ‘ambire’ which means the ability to move around freely. These days, my ambitions are all tied up with that kind of freedom, to create my life’s journey, to be free from the things that hold me back, to hear more clearly the whispers of my soul. And in doing that, I am discovering the discipline of living an authentic life.
